Local phenom Micahlan Boney is an award-winning fiddler who also plays banjo, mandolin & guitar. She performs with The Night Travelers of Atlanta,Ga. which consists of musical virtuoso James McKinney on 5-string banjo and all-star Niki Portmann on upright acoustic bass. They play roots, blues, bluegrass, Americana, rock, and progressive world and folk music. All do vocals. Micahlan is 15 years old and hails from Claxton, GA. As Niki recently wrote, "She is a true musical prodigy and a very kind and sweet young lady with a huge heart to compliment her huge talent." She has logged hundreds of hours of stage time even at her young age.
James, 1982 national banjo champion, has performed, toured, or recorded with master bluegrass players and musical legends such as Vassar Clements, John Hartford, Barbara Mandrell, Porter Wagoner, Johnny Cash, and also The Grateful Dead.
This concert is not to miss. It's fundraiser for restoration of historic Cedar Grove Church in Tattnall County.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at the beautiful timberframe "group shelter" at Gordonia Alatamaha State Park in downtown Reidsville. Concert starts at 7.
